Probably not exactly, if it's OTR work.
sisterannie Thanks this. -
No way if you're OTR
-
Do either of you work there?
-
Yes. I work here -
I "worked there" for 13 months, a couple of years ago. It was a good place to get back on the road after a 20 year absence, too. I averaged 2,900m/month, paid on time, no complaints. So, yes, I did. Also, What I'm saying is you can put in for home after the specified timeframe (forgot) but you have to get a load going that way, they're not deadheading you home. It makes a difference. If you're out 12 days, you won't even have 2 full days off coming to you....how does that work? Now a kinder, gentler place? I got a brand new 2012 Volvo 670, really a sweet driving truck, and when I took 5 days off they took it away. Sad.....I got a beater ProStar.

Ok thank you. You know as well as I do a lot of people have an opinion with no actual knowledge to back it up.
-
No way is based on a couple of things...
As a Company OTR driver the current rule according to my DM is you have to be out a minimum of 12 days to make your hometime request then you have to allow planners 5 days to fulfill that request. So you're looking at around 17 day cycles according to her.
Secondly I made the assumption that the OP actually wanted to make decent money driving. You won't make squat in OTR trying to go home every two weeks.sisterannie Thanks this. -

The norm most companies is one day off for every 7 days out.. Every other weekend would mean a 34 hour restart.. That's about it.. Enjoy !
