Going Over the Road with Knight

Went to So. Cal from UT then up to Reno. 395N is a rough stretch of road. Didn't make good time at all. I was late to Walmart but they are unloading it anyway. I was hoping to go east but the DM says most likely back to So.Cal. maybe better luck this time. I like to get in and get out; not get sucked in over here.

 

After 4 hours at Walmart; got rolling again. They put a load on me at the Sacramento drop yard to be in Merced by 1700. Just get there asap to a McLane. Surprisingly they are taking me. They are fired up at Knight though. Tomorrow I go to Bakersfield to take a load to Houston. Another tight one. I am setup good on recaps running 9 or so hours a day. Should be good. Lots of miles in a short period of time.
This last check was 1350 gross. This week is starting off big. Interested to see what I end up with.

 

This load delivers 0300 Tuesday. That means I will have 3084 miles for the week.

 

My next load is nacogdochez, TX to Benson, NC. 1100 mile run. Getting in and out of nacogdoches, TX isn't easy. It's really hilly, out in the boonies, and tiny roads all the way back to 20.

 

It wasn't as bad as I remember. Guess having more experience made it easier. Wasn't a bad ride at all back to 20. Even at 77000 pounds.

 

Deliver this tomorrow and cut across the boonies to Charlotte to grab a load to Memphis so they can work on meeting my home request. Have lots of business to take care of when I get there.
Depending how things go I might have some exciting news when I come back out.

 

I will have been out just over 4 weeks and haven't had a reset. Just running recaps. It worked out pretty good. I am up to just over 23000 miles for the quarter. I am pretty sure I will hit the 30000 mark by the end of the month to finish the quarter.
