My wife and I are living in the truck now paying off all debt, then saving our pennies for a new truck. Well not necessarily new but new to us. My old Pete gave up the ghost and didn't have the money to rebuild her so I sold it. Teaming in a company ride for now. A little off topic here but is 45 CPM good team pay? Dry van freight preplanned round trips... Generally no waiting for loads.

    Ghost_83 Thanks this.

I talked with a good friend. He said the same, save your money for a truck. Then you'll be able to make the money. Have the the comfortable lifestyle I want. I believe I'm going to keep researching and save money.

45 cents per mile is not good for team pay. 55 to 65 is more like it.

It's all up to you. Whatever you want to do you do it. I recommend lease first to anyone looking to become an o/o because think about it like this...you finance a truck and find out that the business is not for you or wall Street screws up again ( they will), then you're stuck with a truck note on your credit report. And good luck trying to get your $ back. Now if you lease and the same thing happens then you walk away and go back to company driving. If it works out then consider purchasing. It's a win win bro.

When you "walk away" from a lease contract, there are no repercussions, like marks on your credit report? Just give the truck back, and leave? Hmmmmm.......

That is why and what I did, plus, as happened to a friend of mine, his truck was a rolling money pit, the company took the truck back and put him in a different one. He is now making money and paying it off.
