Looking at purchasing a reefer, probably 2011 or 2012. Mostly considering a Utility due to weight but then I hear Great Dane is a better quality but heavier. Does anyone know how much heavier?
From the info I got 2012 Utility scales around 14,000 lbs.

    Depends on how it's ordered.

There's not many Great Dane reefers on the road so you might be a while waiting on some to post specs and curb weight. I don't have a clue and it's hard to web search and get any solid information. Builder A likes to compare his lightweight model to Builder B's non lightweight model :biggrin_25523:

Superseal XLT is about the same as a 3000 Utility, regular Superseal is heavier, and Everest is heavier still. Unit weight also has a bearing on trailer weight, many of ours have TK SB 190s on them

Can't give you the exact weights. The heaviest trailer we still run is a Utility with the running gear replaced. It's noticeably heavier.

The only Big Dogs we run are XLTs with air controlled pins. Much better for multiple drop to close the doors than a Utility in my experience.

Ok, great you are in one of the few Great Dane reefer fleets. Then maybe you could do the OP a favor and post some curb weights of your Great Danes.

I need the empty scale weight. If you happen to know your loaded weight, weight of the load, and weight of your truck then I can do the math.

All I have are GD's. I spec mine all the way through. 13400 with unit. If I order with a heavier floor they will go about 14200. Weight is all in how it was ordered.
