I understand the reason for companies wanting to do hair follicle testing but I’m curious if they are testing for same Standard DOT Urine drugs or is it something much more elaborate like what prescription medicines you take, etc?

So it appears they are looking for the same things as the mandated DOT test but it allows them to go back in history longer? Is this your understanding?

I ask because as a CDL B driver, I have only had the random Urine DOT Test over the past 10 years and never paid any mind to the hair test nor has it been offered; I have never failed anything, I was just curious if it was similar to the Urine DOT or a much more elaborate test. I'm considering advancing up to CDL A trucking school and didn't want to get blindsided with some positive test over blood pressure meds or such.

Several use Omega. No matter which lab is employed for the testing, the lab only certifies for the past 90 days, give or take, your mileage may vary. Yes, the testing CAN go back longer but as of this time they only go back an approximate 90 days for the standardized testing. Additional panels can be added as can additional time but to do this is extremely expensive, an added cost on top of the usual test already costing companies a few hundred per head.

Can't wait for the next level of testing. If they did genetic tests think how much the companies would know about us.
