right now I am just using a htx 242 in the work truck. Used to use a Icom 706 MK2G in a W900 it did well with monoband antenna and autotuner. Radio did fail and when it was repaired the shop cited loose components plus 1 resistor failure. I haven't put it in the current truck as I run NYC twice a week and the constant pounding due to the awful roads might shake things loose again. Next truck is to have an airride steer axle so we'll reevaluate then.

    KD5AXG Thanks this.

I run a 2 meter in the truck. I run GA and SC a lot and use the linked repeaters sometimes.

I tried to run 2m back in the day, but I was all over the eastern third of the states. No common repeaters to program.
