Next month I plan to attend cdl school. I'm looking forward to starting in this new profession and hope to join the ranks of other safe and successful drivers very soon.

I recently found this eye opening article titled, "When the Trucks Stop Delivering, 'The System' Will Collapse". If anyone here sometimes feels under appreciated, feel free to read it.

Welcome to a great career! Get all the endorsements to be prepared for a high paying job right out of school.
Ask questions on the "Questions From New Drivers" thread.
Start submitting job applications the first week of CDL school.

Start studying for your permit and get it before you start school. Many schools don't require this but it puts you at least a week ahead of the other students and gives you more time to work on that pretrip and possibly even do some ride alongs with other students while your peers are still inside studying.

Driver mills can test your patience but if you listen to your instructors all will be well.
    Good luck, driver

    Welcome grasshopper.
Lesson one: don't drive for swift, crst or cr England.
Lesson two: dedicate yourself to learning the art of patience.
Lesson three: present us (forum members) with your pre approved offers and go over it with us; we will happily guide you along young grasshopper.
Lesson four: repeat lesson one and learn from the mistakes of others.
    Lesson five: get a dash-cam.
Lesson six: ask to start out in the western 11 and stay the hell away from the east coast in your first year.
    Your homework is as follows:
Tell us how much your cdl school is.
What are your biggest fears about driving a truck
What do you like about trucking.
    Good luck!

    CasanovaCruiser Thanks this.
