Okay. So let's try something.
We all are quick to call out someone when they screw up, especially if we get screwed as a result.
How about we give a nod to those that do an exceptional job. Or go out of their way to lend a hand. Maybe a driver helped you or someone else out of a jam. Maybe they just did something that made you think we need more like that out here.
Maybe we can encourage more of that kind of attitude and actions.
Hat Tip to Top Hands.

Several months ago I was having a really hard time with a set of Tandems at the HD in Monroe, OH. The pull handle and linkage on the front pins were severely bent.
A company driver was picking up his trailer in the spot next to me and volunteered to assist without being asked. It took us about a half hour to get it done but we got them working. I would have been there a LOT longer if not for his help.
Yep you can believe I wrote his numbers down and called in the next day. Hopefully I'll get the chance to cover a meal for him one day.mickimause, White_Knuckle_Newbie, T_TRUCKER. and 1 other person Thank this. -

Several years ago my fan belt tensioner quit while I was pulling a trainload of diesel up Daniels Canyon in UT. Luckily it was well below zero that night, so I was able to idle the rest of the way up the hill and scoot across the flats. Called a guy I worked with and he bobtailed out 30 miles west to take my load and get it delivered 60 miles east , then drove another 30 miles to where I live and dropped my trailers, then bobtailed 60 miles back home. I offered to buy him some fuel to make up for it and he said 'if we don't watch out for each other, who will? Just help the next guy that needs it'. Blew my mind, especially since it was well after midnight by the time he got home

A shout out to the countless 4 wheelers who either let me slide in or back up so I can make it around a corner. Folks talk a lot of stuff about how braid dead they seem to be, but they've helped me out more than once........including the lady who got out of her car and flagged down traffic while I backed onto a street I didn't need to be on (when I first started out).
mickimause, tucker, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this. -
A really nice, older driver helped me last night blind side in a parking spot, (last one and the place was s cluster ####) it was raining, very cold and this man saw me line up to back in, and didn't walk away until I was backed up completely..I went to get out and thank him, and he was already gone. Very nice guy, and in the 2 short years I've been driving, I can definitely count on 1 hand the times I've gotten help. (Not that I need it much )
I help as much as I can, whether it's helping someone back in to a tight spot, or sliding my reward card for a shower for another driver that doesn't have any, we're all out here, we may drive for different companies but we all deal with the same crap. It's too bad so many take on the attitude of "I'm better than you" sometimes after a long day it's nice to shoot the #### with another driver.mickimause, blairandgretchen, Home_on_wheels and 4 others Thank this. -
mickimause and PoleCrusher Thank this.
