Don't mean to pry into anyone's personal business but getting health insurance has me concened about becoming a O/O.
A little about myself. I am married with a12 yo old kid. My wife is a diabetic and this has me concerned about getting it and being affordable. I would need need prescription as well. Just her insulin alone would be $650 a month.
Thanks in advance for any and all advice

I need sleep, I first read that as you're married TO a 12yr old kid.....

That being said, best thing to do is call up Blue Cross Blue Shield and talk to an actual agent, rather than trying to navigate the marketplace solo.

$650/month for insulin? Dang...I have an insulin-dependent diabetic dog, 30 units of Novolin N injected twice per day. Get it from Walmart, and with the needles, only runs us $60 or $70/month.

That's getting it thru Walmart with a coupon from the of drugs manufacturer. We had to pay for it out of pocket when I switched jobs last year till my new health insurance lkicked in.

Say what you will about Obama-Care, but if you can get it, you may find a sweet plan. But I agree with @dngrous_dime talk to an actual agent to help you narrow down your specific needs. You may not need a national plan or even a state wide plan. Depends on where your job takes you.

Jeeeez, that's nearly my rent payment.... I'm covered under Tricare, and my GF is covered under VA for now.

Even if I didn't have Tricare, the penalties are cheaper than premiums.

I looked at the Obama care exchanges last year and it was just $1000/ month. With a $12000 family deductible. Why bother with having insurance with a deductible that high I couldn't afford to go to the doctor.
