I thought it would be interesting to see how far (miles/minutes) your daily commute to work is?
How far do you think is too far for a daily commute?

A hour or more. When I was local, it was a hour to work. 14 hours on shift and almost 2 hours drive home with traffic. Had less than 10 hours when I got home. Sucked, hell I got more free time doing otr than local
Now with otr, my truck is less than a minute away. Once I finish pretrip , I start to get paid by the mile -
I've never had a job that wasn't at least a 45 minute drive one-way. Would be nice for a change to get off work and be home in 10 minutes...

I live <5 miles from the Ryder yard that my truck is parked at. Takes me about 7 min to get there. My shift lasts between 7.5 and 9.5 hours depending on which customers I have to service on a given night. That gives me about 14-16 hours off each day and every weekend off. It's a gravy gig and I'm very grateful to have it.
Bob Dobalina and texasbbqbest Thank this. -
5-6 minutes each way. Sometimes eight minutes if a Swifty cuts me off as I get close to passing the local truck stop that sits along my route.
Giuseppe Ventolucci Thanks this. -
About 15 minutes. It's about 6 miles each way. 5 days a week. 60 hours. Sometimes 65.
