We are thinking about going to Landstar but haven't started the process yet. Saw the load board at GATS so know a little about that.
How long does it take for application process?
What all happens during that time?
Can you pick your orientation time?
How long and what to expect

My process took 3 weeks. Paced by me. Could have been faster, but I was busy.
They will email forms for you to fill out and send back. Drug test, truck inspection, Hazmat fingerprinting.
Most, if not all gets done before orientation.
Yes. They are pretty open with when and where you attend orientation.musicgal Thanks this. -
I'm two weeks into my process. They've contacted my current company, so things are moving, just slow. Haven't heard back from them since they got my app.

You have to stay on them. They're like a bicycle...keep pedaling them or they won't go anywhere. I had to call them every few days. Took me about 5 weeks to get on.
whoopNride and Scott72 Thank this. -
When you get approved do you have a certain time you have to attend orientation by? I may want to drag this out a bit to see if things improve.

I think you have 30 days to do orientation from the date you're qualified. Otherwise you have to re-take the drug test. Once you go to orientation they don't care what you do. I was qualified on 6/9, went to orientation on 6/30 but didn't actually haul a load until 7/15. I think you'll have to ask them what your qualification date is, like everything else you have to ask or they won;t volunteer it.

You have 30 days before you are required to requalify. They hire to much.
