You ought to talk to a recruiter. You'll be making 100 for orientation and 400 a week for training. That's all I know. -
Anybody work the 14 on/7 off?
-
The easiest way to look at it is just to plan on 2400 miles per week at what your pay is going be. .30 x 2400 - $720 gross per week(or 7 days out running from Sun-Sat). You may get more miles or you may get less. I averaged $900 a week for dedicated run to LA and back twice a week with weekends off. But there was ALOT of work behind the scenes to make everything fall into place. I did that for a year and a half before I just got burned out from all the free work I did to try and please Knight and the Customer. I think I averaged 42k-45k But I knew the freight lanes really well and had a GREAT dispatcher and I didn't mind going to Cali.
I knew a few guys who did the 4 on/4 off and they loved it, but they were all older guys either retired or semi(no pup intended) retired -

knight will work with you on your schedule and running area. been with them 7 years. i run everything south of i-40 out of the katy,tx terminal. last years take home was a little over 42,000. not much for the time i spent away from home. but, on par with with other trucking companies as company driver.

My dawg.
the scale now works like this. 0-1oo they give you a P.O. number for your trip sheet.
100-200 miles .42
200-300 miles .39
300-400 miles .37
400-500 miles .35
+500 miles .33
as of may 2013.
just left there end of may. well, a good week was like $800 . before tax
an average week was like $700 .
there insurance prices are terrible. $36 for one person. a week. that is just the medical ins. so you might net $500 a week if you are lucky. and they will make you work pretty hard for it. a lot of garbage loads. literally. and hay. then you can sweep all that #### out your trailer "for free!"OverDrive Thanks this. -
How much should a driver with 12 years OTR Experience be making with Knight running a simple 2400 mile home on weekends schedule??? What I understood from orientation & what my check say is different.
-
Experienced drivers should be making .42 to .52 cents a mile. If you are on a dedicated or regional runs that price would be fixed and not based on the length of the run.

Does anyone ever get the fuel bonus? I don't idle and I cannot seem to make the target to get the #### thing. Seems like the "carrot in front of the mule" trick to me.
