Greetings Schneider drivers and operators,
When you're home, are you completely free from work?
Do you receive communication that requires attention? I'm primarily asking about phone calls.
If so, how often has it happened? And are you an employee or an IC?
Many thanks!
How often do you get a call from/about Schneider when you're home on your own time?

Once. About a scheduling question for the next week- no big deal.
Grijon Thanks this. -
Twice in 3 years. Once to tell me someone called in to actually compliment my driving, if you can believe that. One other time to ask me to bring in a bit of paperwork.
Grijon Thanks this. -
Thank you very much! I forgot to ask in the original post: are y'all employees or ICs? -
In my case, I'm an IC now. When I was still a company driver, though, I was pretty much left alone when we were at home every weekend. I'm pretty lucky, though, and my ICA/DBL (same guy, I guess the title just changed when I got my own truck) is good about getting business taken care of with me during the week or when I'm in the office.
Grijon Thanks this. -

I've only been called at home twice in 12 yrs....
Once when I was company DBL called to tell me she was taking over for old dbl.
Once as IC to tell me a load cancelled.Grijon Thanks this. -
Thank you all, very much! I'm very interested in starting a career in trucking, with Schneider, and having time truly off is very important to me. As an employee I expect my time off to be treated as time off, not as time on-call, so this information is great to have.

Company driver (read mindless monkey right @redoctober83 ?)
Have run dedicated most of my time here. One account would vall on your ten. To change or attempt to change assignments. Really interupting your sleep and therefore ability to safely operate. Completely in the wrong of course.
Only one time did I answer(my mistake) it was to ask if I would take a load that had to leave in 5 hrs for pu at 2300. Instead of the originally assigned 0600 pu. Quite firmly called the boss out and said I keep my assigned load or I take the day off.
Chat later stating I needed to be more flexible and a team player.
That account didnt really allow for a stable sleep schedule to begin with.White_Knuckle_Newbie and Grijon Thank this.
