Why would you say that? Let's do some math. Let's say a new apu is 10,000 installed. It will burn approximately 1 gallon of fuel overnight, compared with a truck engine that uses around 10 gallons. You're looking at maybe 2 fill-ups a year to run the apu based on 300 nights, while the truck will burn around 3,000 gallons a year. Seems to me the apu will pay for itself in about 2 years, not to mention the savings in truck engine life. I would rather have the apu than sweat or freeze to suit some bean counter somewhere...

The truck I have used between .5 and .7 per hour, I also idle rarely and have a bunk heater for cold weather. When its hot I idle if needed. Otherwise the truck is off, im looking at maybe 50 to 80 nights a year that I might have to idle. In my situation a APU just is not worth it. Especially when a ISX inframe is only around 10k

Swift doesn't run all day cabs and I doubt Moosetek13 had a day cab in mind

The founder of Swift Transportation bought the authority of a company that drove dedicated for Swift Meatpacking . There was never any affiliation between Swift Meatpacking and Swift Transportation . Originally Swift transported steel from AZ to CA .

Had one done on this truck about a year ago due to a defect in a sleeve, cummins paid for it but the bill out shows what all the parts cost and labor, it was just over 10k and 3700$ for all new injectors. I paid for the injectors figured might as well why it was apart. Also keep in mind I get my company's discount at any dealer I go to.
