Why would you say that? Let's do some math. Let's say a new apu is 10,000 installed. It will burn approximately 1 gallon of fuel overnight, compared with a truck engine that uses around 10 gallons. You're looking at maybe 2 fill-ups a year to run the apu based on 300 nights, while the truck will burn around 3,000 gallons a year. Seems to me the apu will pay for itself in about 2 years, not to mention the savings in truck engine life. I would rather have the apu than sweat or freeze to suit some bean counter somewhere...
