    Blue cult fire as known has interstate 15 closed in both directions thru the Cajon pass. Southbound closed at Oak Hills and Northbound closed at the 215/15 split.

    Views from Barstow and Victorville today... I tell you what... With construction on the 18, they were making the trucks go around phelan Rd to 138 back to 18 to Palmdale and man driving across that phelan Rd was kind of nerve wrecking... It was so close to the fire and there were times of complete smoke and nothing but yellow and orange...

    Just seen on the local news, semi truck burning at the Cajon Scales but they didn't mention if the scales survive or burned down. I have tried to look up some 411 and can't find anything. Stay tuned.........

    The historic "Summit Inn" on top of the Cajon pass is history. It didn't survive.

    They just announced that 15 will be closed indefinitely and as far as containment on the fire they said they don't see any containment in the foreseeable future... That's not good

    That's a shame. Sorry to see this. OTOH, a whole lot of people lost their homes to this, from what I read.

    Hot, dry windy conditions. Not good for the firefighters.

    They've had many smaller fires in that area. But this year, the whole area is a tinderbox, and fire conditions are just wrong.
