Driving from Chicago to Fargo means you're going through Minnesota and Wisconsin, which are, in my opinion, two of the snowiest states in the country. However, their road crews do an excellent job of cleaning up their highways. And provided you stay east of Fargo, the wind usually doesn't get that bad. Good luck!

Bedford park to Fargo.
And yes, I know Chicago-Wisconsin winter, I just ask how is the road condition, is there many closures due to wind/snow. And I got it - road most of the time is clean, winds blow west of Fargo -
