Freightliners are so bad you can't even get the hood match the paint.

    I quit using them.

I go straight to CAT or find a mom n pop... or just do it myself if I can.

Thats got nothing to do with Freightliner. Cant blame them for that.

Thats a Mega-company special custom right there.

International dealership isn't cheap either. Granted it's 160 an hour for labor. I paid 1700 for a slack adjuster put on and an injector put in, wait it included having the comp connected to figure out which injector went south. The injector was 670 with core return.

Bright side they did it over night and gave me a ride to the hotel. My mechanic told me I would have been done for around 800.

You have job done at least. My Volvo was sitting one week for differential seal replacement and never done. Yesterday moved her to freightliner and fixed in two hours.

This is the difference between Freightliner and CAT. I have a C15 Acert in mine.

    Freightliner,.. 1 injector.
    $500 for the injector
$1000 to tune the injector codes
    $800 labor.
3 days to do this because they forgot about my truck and it sat for a day. Then took them 2 days to install 1 injector.
    ----------------------------------
Bend ya over special out the door price,.... $2300 (Hagerstown Freightliner in MD)

    Cat,.. 1 injector.
    $500 for the injector.
    $20 to tune injector codes.
    $200 labor.
    ------------------------------
    $720 (Brooksville CAT)

I dropped my truck off at 8:30am,.. took my wife to walmart. Then got a bite to eat. By noon they called to say the truck was ready.

Mechanic at CAT saw that a hose was chaffing on the valve cover. He put some foam padding around it,.. no charge.

They've been servicing and wrenching on my truck ever since.

A few years ago it would have made sense to buy a pre emissions truck, but today it makes less sense. The object in trucking is to move freight and get paid. Fighting Uncle Sam and Father Time is a suckers bet.
