I'm currently running one of those brand new Freightliners. It had 101 miles on it when I was assigned it. Overall it's a fleet spec truck but it's nicely accommodating. I've now put over 5000 miles on the ticker & it's a solid ride. The EPU as they are called is 100% battery powered & works pretty well overall.

My ancient ProStar+ has almost 450,000 miles on it. My guess is it's due for the auction block soon. My left leg wants an auto and my head wants a Freightliner. I keep bumping it against the top bunk and the left storage unit in the cramped thing.

You'll definitely like the new Shakers. They are very roomy & the top bunk folds up leaving lots of headroom. The cabinets take some getting used to. But I'm loving this automatic myself. This big 15 liter Cummins ISX is louder & much more brutish sounding than we're used to as opposed to the quieter Maxxforce. But it pulls like a salted dog. PM me if you want more details.

Will PTL hire someone right out of school?

Yes. I don't know all of the requirements or stipulations so you'll have to speak to a recruiter. But they will give you a chance if you meet all eligibility.
