    Hi Friends and Fellow Truckers
Just Got my License back after downgrading in 1995! Was offered a Local Job driving a Day Cab at $10.00 per hour and home daily with occasional routes to South Carolina? No Driving with mentor for weeks! Just three days riding with another driver learning the routes all drop and hook with some live unloading at certain stops!
I was thinking about driving with them and using the home time to get everything in order as my wife is sick and needs me close by, I know I could make more going OTR but right now My wife needs me to be close by and i would sacrifice anything for her even money! probably 40 + hours a week? Is this just to low? Thought I would try it for 6 months or 1 year depending how things go? Give me your thoughts please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yes and I'm in Phenix City Alabama and there is not much here!

Our local drivers make more than that and El Paso is the mecca for depressed wages.

But if it suits your needs to be close to home for your wife, then sometimes you have to just take the paycut.

For your area, that would be an average rate. Pay rates in the south are very low compared to the rest of the country, especially in areas not near an urban center.
