I was looking at a FL 2011 410 hp . They have the intransit heat so i suppose been used for tankers . One has a new engine installed about 165K ago at 465000 miles , so maybe 2011 dd 13 410hp is bad engine ?
Is that enough hp to work with ? Never had anything that small .

Depends on your weight. We hit 140,000 lbs every load. Our smallest trucks have a 430 C12, 430 60 series, and a 470 C13. It's slow going. We get on the highway at one point and its maybe a 1% grade for 10 miles and it takes most of those 10 miles to get up to 60mph. But if I had to pull that weight with an emissions engine, I wouldn't go less than 475. You will be running high EGT's and I wouldn't want to burn out a DPF prematurely. Plus if you have to re-gen while trying to pull that load you won't be a happy camper.

So you are leased wth someone.
    How is he paid?
    Weight or per load?
Reason i ask is if they are paid by weight and you get % off that, better look for the lightest truck.
As to the 410hp.....plenty unless you run the Rocky's.
You will not be fast but it will get there.

    Burn out the DPF?
Running high temperatures in the exhaustsystem will make you have less or no regens.

not yet . need a truck so i can get back to work . Was a company driver till last week .
Co i plan to lease to 77% for me . That using their trailer so someday get my own and make more .
hauling grain . So load is paid by weight of grain . Usually a truck in the 18 to 19k range works good .
Just running in midwest , ok ks, co, mo, tx ... mostly jsut ok to ne . not too far into other states . so not much for mountains
