J1587 Check light, no gauges etc...from water?

That's right put new batteries on the 05 780 ISX. Went to get truck washed and later got the infamous J1587 ECM Communications error code. I noticed a big pool of water in my furthest forward battery top where the handle sits. I disconnected battery negatives let ECM reset 30 minutes and then it was gone. Then a couple of days later it came back when it started raining. Did the same this morning had only air and fuel gauges. I dried the battery top and reset ECM all good for now.

Heads up if this happens to you. If you read some of the threads about this code it is easy to get very anxious. So try this first before you spend any money.

I am going to see about rotating that battery so the top is facing towards the back perhaps it will stop it. My splash shield is not broken has anyone used any kind of battery cover?
