It also stipulates only hourly and salary workers are eligible.
I think the drivers are screwed, but we'll see I guess.

Nope, I think we as Americans need to wake up to the fact. The free ride is over.
Market controls pricing. We couldn't really expect 3rd world countries, to remain 3rd world players. With China on line, and they are make no mistake, it (gas) will only go higher.
China's expected growth is 12% annually for the next 15-20 years. Analyst have projected at this rate, China will require ALL availiable oil on the market to maintain this growth, within 10 years.
People whine about it taking 10 years to get results out of areas we want to drill. NOW is the time to start...not later.

Why does every trucking company that goes out of business cite fuel and insurance costs as the reason for going out of business?
They should just say the truth which was poor management of the company. Everyone is paying high fuel and insurance costs, so why aren't they all shutting down If it is for reasons not unique to Jevic.
The state is investigating why they did not give notice to the employees of the impending closer. Which I guess is against the law in their state.
How can people say a company is great and treats their employees good etc.. when they don't even have the decency to tell their own employees that they are in trouble and may go under?
Jevic is just another OTR company that serviced the customer to the end, at the expense of their own -
Well to my surprise the brothers I know who drove Jevic for 10 years or so had a couple Zumstein rigs at their place this weekend (west cental OH ). Man that was quick. Trucking is unpredictable.
