I'm got to the hotel about an hour ago, ready for a good night's sleep before day 1 of orientation to become America's newest steering wheel holder. I was laid off from my oilfield job yesterday and I'm pretty excited to start a new career. I'm doing OTR. I figure if I'm going to be a truck driver I want to drive around the country and see new places, not just drive between stores and a DC in a few hundred mile radius.

Here's an update, if anyone is interested. Finished up Friday late afternoon. Training coordinator didn't find a trainer for me by the end of her day so I'm home for the weekend. I know a lot of the guys were hoping to get home time but I'm just so excited to get on the road.

Welcome to the team. Just remember it's not just about getting from point a to point b. Those miles in between can be amazing.
