Hello all,
My name is Drew, I'm 21, just got my CDL, and just got my first truck. It is a '07 386 Pete 13-Speed with a CAT and I love it.
My father and I are seeking to add amenities to it and register it as an RV and travel. There are no plans other than to tow our personal things such as cars and maybe a thing or two for my cousins. It is strictly going to be "not for hire." I have read that the conversion is a very feasible endeavor though not overly common. I plan on keeping a logbook incase I am stopped, plus it is a good practice. I may make a progress thread on how the build goes. Right now, we are looking into new front tires and an APU.
It's great to be on here!

Congratulations... So no plans to make money with the truck just use it for leisure? What's your occupation?
-
I'm in college right now earning a degree in anthropology and possibly criminology. This is going to be a thing purely for leisure right now, and with the cheaper RV insurance, it is much more feasible. Possibly in the future when I'm out of school and have extra time, I may register it to use it for making cash, but not right now.
rachi Thanks this. -
Odds are that truck can make you more money than a degree in anthropology or criminology ever will. just saying...
-
On the outside it looks in darn good shape for a 2007! Congrats

There's some threads on here about APU's.
Get a quiet one, especially if you park in RV parks. -
