Evening. I'm on my way to Reno from la just wondering if anybody has some quick thoughts on either taking 99 or 395. I have about an HR before I gotta go and any info is appreciated.

From Los Angeles, take 5 to 14 and 14 runs into 395, all the way to Reno.

What was the issue ? That's the route I use to run years back. And if it was snowing, I would take the 6 out of Bishop and thru Tonapah and end up coming thru the east side of Reno. I know 395 is mostly two lane highway and has a few passes to climb, but that's trucking.

I didn't like that route the first time I went that way. Trust me......I got use to it quickly. It's what you call and "adjustment". I ran up 5 then thru 80 over Donner pass, it took forever and only cause I wanted to uses the interstate. But I realized afters it was better going the route I mentioned in the beginning. Shorter, quicker and No SCALES.
P.S. This was back in the very early 80's

Well sir I'm not interested in scale dodging. One donner vs. city zones, several grades, several hills. Etc. sir! All is well though. At the end of the day I made the choice.
