    I know of a hidey hole on 64. :)

It's near a regular customer so.us parking there would not be out of place.

Why are you being such a jerk? He's not the only one who thought you were running up 95.

FM plans better than most, maybe you could learn a few things from him.

They are... but not every trooper is DOT certified. They used to be two entirely different animals years ago. That was when the Diesel Bears drove the blue Crown Vics.

New Mexico is still that way but they want to combine the State Police and Motor Transportation police into one agency

Yep NC had a DMV Enforcement division. I used to see them with trucks pulled over all the time. They integrated them into the state troopers I'm thinking around '93 or so to save money. I actually got pulled by one as a four wheeler once. I ran a red light taking someone to the hospital and followed me to the ER. No ticket.

My company, and I'm sure most other companies, prohibits us from parking on onramps and offramps, I'm sure to release themselves from liability. So, if someone hits you, I hope you're not too attached to your house or your bank account.

So I came out of the flying j in fort pierce fl. today when I noticed that there was car hauler half way thru the fuel island and blocking the island next to him.
It was clear to me that he had run out of fuel.
I thought to myself what should I do?
Then I recalled this forum and especially what I learned from this thread.
So I ran up to him and proclaimed how could you be out of fuel?
I said I don't care whether you came from the north or the south you had to have passed at least 10 fuel stops in either direction and you need to man up and plan better!
He informed me that someone siphoned all his fuel out last night while he was sleeping in the truck stop.
I guess I shouldn't have been a jerk and assumed.
    This really happened today.
Well except the part of me being a jerk to him.
Instead I went to my truck and grabbed some tools and showed a young driver how to bleed his fuel system and got his truck going.
You see this month is starting my 36 year as cdl driver.
I come from a time of western shirts, pressed blue jeans and cowboy boots.
I come from a time when a big truck was broke down on the highway there were four other trucks pulled over offering help.
I come from time when truck drivers were an elite brotherhood that only the highest professionals were a member of.
I spent the first 20 years of my career as a bull hauler many times running thru the night in -30 degree weather with 100 high value registered calves trying to get them delivered alive.
I have spent the last 15 years as a car hauler loading 100,000 dollar cars backwards up top decks covered in ice and some how not ending off over the front hood of my truck.
I think I have done my time in the planing department.
The problem is that many rush to judge with out knowing the full story.
Some even make up facts to back up there criticism.
Time to go on a diet, put away the flip flops and sweat pants and get back to that elite brotherhood we once were and work together as one on all the issues that face us as professional drivers today.
