They are not as strict as they once was on hiring, but they are still very detailed.

How fresh is the loadboard? Meaning when load is assign to driver, then the load is removed from the search result.
From your experience when you calling broker, and he/she say....."That load been covered already"? 10% of the time...20% of the time? Thanks

Great loads make a quick exit, good loads aren't far behind. Anything lingering more than 15 minutes, especially these days, has issues, is specialized, or is garbage.

Try to plan your loads as far in advance as practical. This will give you a cushion and more of a window to score a more profitable load.

Just finished participating in webinar https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/rt/2204753179637102849
When calling an agent to book the load, can everything(booking load) be completed in a single call? or I need to wait for him to call me back with confirmation# or pickup#?

Sometimes you need to leave a message, but mostly they will answer and handle it in one call. You then will get a confirming email. Easy!!

A couple things to know about this...

If they put you on hold to "check that the load is still available" this means the load is a cut and paste load and they are calling some broker somewhere to tell him they have a live one on the hook. You should always ask for more money than they have it posted for. EVERYTHING is negotiable...the total rate, accessorial breakouts...everything.

If you see three different agents post the same load and weight, pickup and destination for three different prices it is most likely three agents posting the same cut and paste load from another loadboard.

Make them send you the freight bill. Some like to send just an email or a rate con sheet, but the freight bill is the one that details the actual rate you get paid from and the accessorial breakouts. Don't start rolling until you have confirmation. Some agents also broker loads out to outside carriers. It is possible to have them "cancel" on you to put it on an outside truck. (Their % cut might be higher with an outside truck vs. a BCO)

And keep in mind the board is the leftovers. Getting started you rely on it a lot. 9 mos. in you should only use it for 1/2 your loads. You want to get to a point where you only look on the board as a last resort. This is business...build relationships with agents. Understand and use the lane match.
