Landstar rates , what are you guys averaging on all miles for Van?

Yes I pull a step. And no I can't tell you what I get because it changes constantly. The best rates are usually in an area I am not in and will only last until the day before I get there. And the best loads post and book when I am not looking. If what you're doing is consistent then you're not doing that bad at $1.60.

Think of it like this: Imagine a dozen women in the bar. Nine women just left for awhile but they'll be back. Now there's six guys after the three that are left. Think you should go full on Rico Sauve and give it a go, or buy yourself another beer and wait to see if her friends come back in and have less competition?

 

Just to add go with a regular flat before a step if you have no exp with steps. A lot of people get the misconception that steps make a whole lot more money and feel like they look cool. The guys that are successful know what they're doing. Step decks used to be specialized but now their practical.
