Here's a link to the article form the local paper.

Large trucks banned from Ky. 151 in Anderson, Franklin counties

I just check the FHWA website as well the KY Transportation Cabinet website and didn't see any information on this closure. So here's my bigger question - discounting any temporary signage that is put up at either end of this short cut, how would someone who doing route planning right now find out about this ban since the two places that I know don't say anything about it.

I don't have a link but just read where another town/area was trying to ban trucks from their area and it was struck down by the State Supreme Court ... Wish I could remember which State.

w.h.o - Not to be argumentative but by my read there is currently a temporary ban.

But whether there is or isn't in this particular instance my original question still remains: What "tools" can a driver have in their toolbox to check for this kind of thing when doing route planning?

I realize that things change and you've got to be flexible but I'd much rather know up front instead of, at the best an on the fly detour or at the worst a hefty fine for being on an unapproved roadway.

FWIW I had the opportunity to go past this exit on 64 westbound yesterday shortly after the original post and there wasn't any signage up yet.

West Virginia. It seems some ungrateful folks in the city of Morgantown didn't like the sound or sight of heavy trucks rolling through their neighborhood.

    MidWest_MacDaddy Thanks this.

Yes, but because the road was a truck legal State/Federal road... They couldn't ban the trucks without an alternate route in place around the town... (i.e. Atlanta)

    If memory serves me correctly.

Yup, hence the state struck the law down as unconstitutional(and illegal).
