Be warned that the Hoover Dam is the lowest water level since construction in 1930's It's only 110 feet above the level at which the intakes must fail to take in water for the power turbines and drinking water must also fail for Las Vegas.

I would not try to build a life there right now. It could be a disaster in the making a few years or so.

It's too powerful to shut down. You have billion dollar casino operators that will make sure the town still stays open. There's some other places that the city water comes from also. I'd like the intake to be closed anyway. It's stupid how they built the intakes. They placed them downstream from the Vegas Wash so when it rains all the crap goes down to the lake and then sucked right back up again. They do know there's a major water problem and I have to say the casinos are doing their part. The water you see in shows and other places is brown water recycled from their own hotel. What you will see is a shortage of water were they place the city on conservation methods. If you are ever in town you can see right off the I-515 close to the mall the original uptake for city water. It's close to the large above ground storage tank. Right out in the middle of the field you can see a water pump where the ground is about 6 feet or so down where it used to be.

I believe the way the natural lay out of the valley is a major problem more so than the river uptakes. When it rains in town the ground is very hard causing the water to just run off and down the river to California. The city has several plans that can be put into action to help with the shortage of water. Buying water rights from Arizona is one. Where I-15 runs along the Arizona boarder there are no dwellings there so Arizona doesn't need the water. That's one step. California is in a drought much worse than Las Vegas. But still the cost of living is attractive for home buyers.

On some post before they mention the homes going back to the bank and people not making any money. And also, someone stated that most jobs are service jobs that do not pay very well. But what people fail to see is the tipping. That's where a lot of workers make their living. People that valet your car actually sell their position when they move on. When I was there I was making CA wages plus working for a major oil company. We moved back east to be with family. Now they are gone so we are planning to move back. If you stay out of the casinos and don't through your money away you can live high on the hog there. One example is property taxes. Here I pay over $8,000 a year compared to a little over a $1,000 a year in Vegas.

If you really want to move there; submit applications now and tell the companies you'll move as soon as they hire you. Even if they do have a waiting list, you're application might stand out above the others. When a good company calls you and says "you're hired" then you can decide if you really want to move there or not. Take the job and move or decline the job and stay where you are.

Faraday Future took all that into consideration and decided it's a wise decision to build a $1 billion dollar plant there, which they've already started construction. That's a sweet looking car they're going to build. Other construction started because of the Faraday plant, such as support facilities to supply parts, and new homes for the employees to purchase.
Supposedly the car is 1000 HP electric vehicle. There's pictures on Google. Looks like something out of star wars. They feel customers interested in Tesla will also like the competition.

I think it would work if you just ran OTR. Going home wouldn't really be any different than anywhere else, except a little extra dead head.
I'm real good at picking baseball teams, no other sports just baseball, so I'd like it for that.
But the water / dam situation is scary. That's a big town, and it uses a fair amount of water. When no one can flush the toilet, much un happiness will ensue. And because just about everyone there is involved with casinos or hotels, it just has a weird vibe to the place
