I only have a little over 4 months experience. I was wondering how a lease purchase program works? Do you have to pay for your own insurance for the truck and trailer? Gas? Maintenance? Do you get a percentage of each load you drop? Any good companies with a lease purchase program?

You don't know enoughstr8t10, CaptainDaveG and HalpinUout Thank this. -
You pay them money to work for them.
They call all the shots you pay all the bills.
They get rich you get to call yourself a "business owner."Dye Guardian, HalpinUout, poppapump1332 and 2 others Thank this. -
Plenty of discussion elsewhere in this forum about "lease" programs. Most of them are a ripoff where you essentially rent your own "job"
Yes, you pay your own rent (lease), insurance, maintainance, tows, repairs, fuel, losses, taxes, tolls, etc. if you have any left in the bank at the end of the year, it's your salaryTruckerNolting Thanks this. -
It works like this!!
1. You pay way to much for a truck.
2. You pay way to much for all the extra bull they add on like insurance, Qualcomm, maintenance etc.
3. You have very little say so in governed speed, productive loads. Where you can get truck serviced at.
4. You are paid very little which keeps you running the truck, and not going home so u don't fall behind and live off cash advances.
Company laughs all the way to the bank, and takes their truck back whenever they feel like it, and You have nothing to show for it but empty pockets.
5. You come on to the bad company section to join the rest of the winners with a some lease purchase company done you wrong song.HalpinUout, STexan, Toomanybikes and 1 other person Thank this. -
In a typical lp offered by a carrier, you pay for everything related to the truck. With the exception of those that pay by the mile (aka CHEAP) usually pay for plates and tolls.
So the costs would be, fuel, all maintenance, bob tail and physical damage ins, workmans comp or occupational accident insurance. Plus any incidentals for the job. -

Paying for a job is never a good idea. You can't even call it a "business" because virtually all these fleece purchse deals have a clause saying that only the leasee can drive the truck. So you can't lease a truck, put a driver in it, and relax at home while the dough rolls in.
Old school 362 and UFO Thank this. -
"While the dough rolls in" ... Really? Where do I sign?
That's cold, man. -
Any time it cost more to start a lawn care business, then a trucking business should tell you it not a good business venture. Do yourself a favor look for a good company job
HalpinUout, kjoseph and Toomanybikes Thank this.
