I recently quit a Job due to extreme verbal abuse, and constant theft of money off of my paycheck. Upon quitting my job, I started recieving threatening txts from my boss saying what he would do to prevent me from gaining employment elsewhere. Then, I applied for work, and was told by the potential employers that I couldn't be considered for the job due to a report from my previous employer. I need to get this fixed so I can work. I have a good DL, no points, excellent work record, and no one will hire me now. What can I do to fix this asap.?
lied on by a prev employer!

I hope you have saved all the text messages,,you can have him charged with harassment and threatening you,,suggest that you notify anything and everything illegal the company is doing to the FMCSA.
Go see a lawyer file a law suit.
Now tell everyone who the company is,,do everyone a favor so they won't apply for a job with themRick Brown, NavigatorWife, wall_404 and 3 others Thank this. -
All a previous employer can do is answer the question "would you hire xyz again?" with a yes or no. That's law.
NavigatorWife and Chinatown Thank this. -
There was a similar post a few months ago. The driver had a lawyer contact the company and the harrassment stopped immediately.
Where is your location; city/state? Many companies will hire you.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
And the previous employer can refuse to answer, and not even acknowledge that you even worked for them, all within their legal rights. -
I would ask a lawyer?
-
Well there are court cases about what can be said and not said but I would call the cops and have them answer the question about the threats and document everything.

I think the prospective employer must also provide you with the "report" that they say contained info they used to deny you employment
