Does your truck have the Co-Pilot system?
The lightning bolt icon means an electrical malfunction of some kind. With the read outs available in the co-pilot, you can get the codes, or sometimes identify the problem through the gauges available in the center screen on the dash, above the speedo and tach.
I had an intermitten electrical malfunction light for a flaky rear drive axle temp sensor, while looking through all the available temp gauges I came across the rear drive which read "- -", had the sensor replaced, problem solved.
