They already scratch the Swift drivers backs with Breakdown Pay, Detention Pay, Free Hot Dog and Free Soda for Driver Appreciation Hour once a year, Belt Buckle and Diamond Logo on the side of your truck when you are on time delivery for 3 years straight. Every QC message is postscripted with "Thanks For All You Do". I'm not sure there is a more appreciative company out there than Swift.

    KillingTime Thanks this.

Swift (and the trucking industry in general) DOES NOT CARE about your time, only in getting the job done.

Just be glad Swift lets you fuel at truck stops. Duncan REQUIRES their trucks to fuel at our terminal in Buckeye. 2 SLOW-single nozzle pumps to serve nearly 200 trucks. I fuel 3 times a week. I've taken many a 30 minute break waiting to fuel.

Our company pays .94 cents per gallon for our def at the terminal... We pay almost full price of 2.XX on the road. They like us to top off also at home terminal and we only have 50 trucks, Cant imagine a fleet of 20,000 with those costs.

Hmm, interesting thought but my experience has not been so. My trk has over 700k on it and not once an emmision system problem. I have a 35 gallon def tank on my trk roughly every 5,000 mi I fill it up. At home my trk sits sometimes for 2 to 3 months never an issue, With the def Every 200k I do the required maintenance on emmision system, very little idling. I know if it is luck or what? .

Ok , do not listen. Just explained in clear , easy to understand terms what causes most all DEF issues. Just because you have not been hit by a falling tree , doesn't mean that they do not fall.

If you want to get paid for pumping DEF you need to go to work for a union company like ABF or UPS or YRC

Does not have to be union. But Swift may be the best he can do?

    Trees fall?
    Wow, I never knew...

But you're right. Just because I haven't had problems doesn't mean I won't in the future. so I'll take your advice.
