Soon we can use line 5 (off duty, driving) to use the truck as our personal vehicle. It is restricted to 45 mins driving, you can not be doing Averitt business, and you have to bobtail. However, it is a good thing for truckload drivers who want to go get something to eat at the end of the day, or for those runs to Walmart to resupply the truck.

Most places wont touch this, but I am glad Averitt is allowing it. It is restricted, but I think this gives us the freedom we need without opening it up to be abused.

I like this. Lots of times I get to my stop and wish I could go get something to eat or run to Walmart.

When is this supposed to happen?

This may sound like a dumb question but I looked in my HOS menu and the only duty statuses I see are , on, off, driving, and sleeper... am I looking in the right place because I can't find it.

Yep same as mine. If you don't have that option, and you are a truckload driver, I would let your fleet manager know. They may have your truck classified under supply chain or something else
