I have written about this before...don't know why you don't believe me..
    Free wi-fi is free...23 Fuel Stop@ Exit 1 on U.s. 23 in MI has FREE wi-fi...
I'm a cashier there and I have never charged anyone for wi-fi.

Short Stop on Hwy 5 just outside Warren has free wi-fi also. A little off 80 so not a common stop for most drivers, but the food is good the parking lot is big (but dirt) and the internet is free.

I'm surprised that more stops don't have free/cheap Wi-Fi. Lot of new drivers have Laptops and such.

Most of the chain stops treat this as another source of revenue from their trucker business.

If they use siricom they may have been out of service. I read somewhere that siricom lost it's access to the internet because they couldn't pay their bills, just like truckstop.net (what they were before siricom bought them out) I personally got a cell card for my laptop thru my cell provider. It's $59 a month, but I got sick of hunting free hotspots. Paying for a daily usage to wifi ended up costing me more than what I am paying for unlimited via my cell. I couldn't ever guarantee that I would stop at the same franchise truckstop every time, so getting a monthly subscription didn't work out for me. Sometimes the cell card is twice as fast, other times it's as slow as dial-up. But I haven't found anywhere that I can't get on and browse. And since we're doing 'in-cab trans-flow' I needed to have access from everywhere I could deliver.
