I don't have any problem with lumpers unloading my trailers. I DO have a problem with having to pay for it out of my pocket and then trying to get reimbursed for it.
It's not my freight. Someone ordered it, someone shipped it. The money for that transaction doesn't pass through my hands, why should the lumper fee? -
Next time they want you to pay the lumper and the company wont reimburse for it. Refuse to pay the lumpers and tell the company they will unload it at no cost. if they want to refuse the load say fine i will take it back where it came from. go out pull up close doors and head for the gate, see how fast they change theyr mind and unload for free.

Lumpers are not all the same. Some lumpers get the money you pay them. Some lumpers work minimum wage and the corrupt lumper company they work for gets the outrageous profit. Best I can figure, there's a dart board in the back, and that's how your unloading fee is determined. I never give a lumper a hard time because they always work hard, and I never know whether to feel sorry for them because they work for scum or kill them because they are the scum.
Northeasterner Thanks this. -
I just don't get it. Why wouldn't the receiver pay the lumpers? It's their freight. Or pay me $300 and I'll unload it.
What happens if you don't have the money? Just park it? Do they take debit cards? If they do........give me a company card! -
