Well its almost nap time. Pickup is all shined up and loaded up. Heading out to Fort Mac in about 11 hours. Hopefully be up there by noon tomorrow. Toss my fridge and other stuff out then a 45 minute drive north to camp for the week. Ain't making money if the wheels and wrenches aren't turning.

Good luck! It's going to be a long tough road back but at least now the rebuilding can begin.

I'm sure I'm going to be right in the middle of the action just due to the nature of my job. Sounds like we've got a lot to do with very little manpower. Not really sure what to expect. Last time I went through town I was in the middle of a firestorm and really didn't see too much. I think I'm in for quite a shock.

Yep. Firetrucks out with flags flying on the bridge.

Feels great to be home. Very little smoke smell and no damage to my place. Fridge was ok too. Life's good.

The fire didn't appear to make it much further south than the scales. Looks like the horse stables in Prairie Creek survived as did the Gregoire industrial park. Centennial park is just a memory. Flying J survived, as did the Burger King, Shell and the McDonalds. Looks like they're already hauling out the rubble out from Beacon Hill. Waterways has a few trailers and the Legion still standing. Downtown so far is business as usual. People out and about cutting grass and cleaning off sidewalks. Home Hardware is open and so are the Mac Stores. From what I've seen so far the re-entry is going very smoothly.
