How long are your runs typically?

700-1000 miles. Once my hometime get closer, it gets around 400ish miles run and I'll been running around my home.

That sounds like a good number, now if they would pick up the pace on load and unload times!

Just wanna update this. Posted this on 10/27/15, it's now 2/19/16.

Winter is here and freight is down. Runs are now average 400-800 miles. Glass freight is down, so now glass drivers have to break down the glass rack to haul regular flatbed loads. We get paid to take the racks down ($30) and it can be taken down in 30 minutes.

So far I had coils and lumber loads which was actually easy to secure and tarp than glass. Securement Class was a long time ago but the qualcomm has video to refresh my memory on how to secure. Still....I'm more comfortable doing glass so hopefully it pick up soon.

Overall, still pretty good out here. Paychecks are getting steady, miles are okay, people and drivers are helpful. Nothing to complaint about yet.

Is that securement video from the QC on YouTube or anything?

No, not that I know of. Low quality player on "media manager" tab on qc. It has different type of coils set up, shiny bar, steel, pallets etc etc. I actually didn't see a lumber video but I secure it by length and went threw my little notes. Kinda helpful but maverick do have a hotline to call 24/7 if you have questions on securement which I had use twice so far.

Just got approved to come back and was looking at Glass. I hurt my elbow 8 months ago and had to have surgery and am a little scared that glass might be to hard on my arm? I was flatbed last time and think I can do that but would like to know how much heavier is the tarps on Glass? I can handle the up and down on ladders just wondering how hard on arms is it

Lumber tarp is heavier. Glass is smaller, but comes in 2 if you are pulling a step or flat. We still use lumber for glass that are on steel racks or doing regular flatbed loads.

If you think u can do flatbed, then glass is no different. Just more climbing up and down ladders
