I guess technically now in the states that have passed regs for APU's, and you really have one, you can be 80,400.

If a driver at the company I work for has an incident with the heavy in the back it is a safety violation and cause for immediate termination,....That's what we were told in orientation anyway,..

    I can understand that.

But I was just quoting what I remembered from the CDL manual.

Never heard it as a policy over here - obviously the heavy one is up front 99.9% of the time.

just to play devils advocate what would you do if you knew your pup that was 1 pound lighter was loaded with alot of weight up high....then would it still be a violation to put that trailer up front?

I would ask the supervisor what they wanted me to do,...And then work as directed,.......In a very safe manor,...:yes2557:

The other thing I've found is if you have two that are within about 2,000 lbs of each other like a 12,000 and a 14,000, it's really a coin flip which one is actually heavier when you factor in dunnage, decks, and freight not weighing exactly what it says on the bill. That's why in the winter I like a big gap in weight like a 19,000 lb lead and a 7,000 lb kite.

not to mention the 3+ shipments our guys cram on the trailer with no bills on or anything

ive pulled 14,000 pounds of corrosive off a trailer that had no bill or anything on it, no placards no nothing

report it to management and all they say is "write it on your manifest"

    jakebrake12 Thanks this.
