Truck speed limit on the Grapevine is less than 55 mph on the downgrades. If memory serves me correct I believe it is 35 mph northbound and 45 mph southbound.

The truck speed limit is 45 mph on southbound Cajon Pass. I was doing the speed limit and got my doors blown off by an independent and watched him get nailed by a friendly CHP right in front of me.

CHP does take those truck speed limits on the big hills seriously. Doesn't matter whether you are empty or loaded to the max.

i normally drive 60 in calif. except on grapevine(35mph nb and 40mph sb) and cajon pass.(45 mph) expensive tix from what i hear. i've had alot of chp pass me going 60 and a few who pace me till i slow back down to 55 but never got stopped. only time i did, i was going 65. my theory is if you going 60 and not doing something else wrong, they leave you alone.

67 is overspeed with swift. just use your jake brake man. slow down and to the stop overspeeding. catch a lower gear if you have too. you can get into some real trouble for it

swift won't fire you for driving legally or at legal speed. they'll fire you for not following swift's policy. big differance. if you don't like it, noone is making you work here. i have no issues with swift so far. every problems that arises working here does at other companies too.

And if you are SO tight on time that you can't afford an extra 20 minutes to go the speed limit - you need to manage your time a bit better.
