Mercedes MBE 4000 problems

    At the conexpo in las vegas it was still the epa 2007s in truck.

    just checked the cat truck engine web site and things have change.

    These don't look like cats WTF? WOW that's really disappointing.

    EPA 2007 engines are more reliable. all new emission crap is not reliable

    Exactly, alot of people bad mouth the mercedes motor but compared to some of the newer alternatives the mercedes doesn't look to bad after all.

    I would say the nonEGR is more reliable of the MBE 4000s

    The parts are different on the EPA 2004 on engines.
    My EGR MBE had nonEGR heads on it for about 200,000 ml.
    After the change to EGR heads it became a problem motor.

    I have a 2006 mbe 4000 with a cracked block inside by #3 where the crank bolts down to the block 280,000 miles / 14 months out of warrenty
    anybodyelse have this problem??

    My advice to you is to avoid your ambulance chasing extortionist buddy and get a good workshop to deal with. Are you in the business of moving goods from A to B or being screwed over by smarmy gets using you as a pawn in game of never winning? These engines are easy to work and will give pretty decent service when treated properly

    just bought a 2004 freightliner with MBE 4000 engine come to find out
    there's water from radiator on the fuel tanks is anybody has the same proble ill appreciated any advice thanks
