Hi. We have a whopping 3 truck fleet and looking to leave Connecticut because of taxes, regulations, road conditions, and wonderful rates. We have family that lives on the NC/SC line. Wondering if anyone has any input on to which state would be better for business..ie: property taxes, income tax, workers comp, truck registrations and insurance, freight inbound and outbound. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

South Carolina is sposed to be better for business: I can't verify, but that's what my buddy's from SC say.
Freight is what you make of it, if you're on the state line you should be close enough to service both sides.

Ahem, that being said, if you're leaving CT hook me up with your customers over here! I'm not trying to leave for a while.

    :)

SC has way cheaper property taxes than NC. Fuel is also about 30 cents per gallon cheaper. I used to live in Charlotte and would fuel up in SC because it would always be cheaper.

South Dakota. No income tax. No personal property tax. If you go there call me I'll go too.

Get some office or rent some place up there. Run the business out of SD.....and stay somewhere else.

I have some good info on how to do it. I looked into it myself. Not hard to do. I am only a few states away. The state I am in face rapes businesses hard.

Message me if u get a chance.

Was looking at the Carolinas because we have family there. CT is horrible for businesses also.

Carolinas are bad on taxes too. Best part is you can protect your retirement and other things from taxes in SD. North Carolina is horrid on taxes. Its also a very needy state. Very high poverty rate too.

In sc with 3 employees or less you don't need worker's comp
