Is it legal to drive for two companies, and are you allowed to maintain two separate logs, as long as the cumulative hours of service are within DOT guidelines?

Drive for two companies sure but only one log book.
You can't work at McDonald's without logging it on your log book.

tscottme and Dakota Hunter Thank this.

If you drive for two different companies, they make a 3 copy log book so you can give each carrier a copy.

One log book for all work/jobs. As stated above even if you work McDonalds ( all jobs/work). you are suppose to log it on duty not driving. Just like when you do your own maintenance on your vehicle. On duty not driving. Good luck.

    tscottme Thanks this.
