Multiplex bypass

    Yes you could join 2 lengths of coax with a SO 239 barrel connector. and eliminate the multiplexer. It would be a cheap enough experiment.

    Just use the barrel screw made for volvos. It replaces one of the mirror bolts and a antenna mounts to it. Then just run separate coax. That's what I done and use the factory ones for the tv and the antenna I added for my CB

    The antenna's aren't for your tv, that's up in the headliner. The factory ones are for your am/fm radio, and a phone if you want to.

    If I'm understanding correctly, you can not just connect one side using the original coax. You will need to rewire it with 50 ohm coax from the antenna to the CB
