Rooster thanks for all the great info. One thing I wanted to ask is can you keep renewing the one year lease or do you have to commit to a long term lease after that year is up? TIA.

You can keep doing the 1 year lease. You may not be able to always lease the same truck depending on year and mileage.

    Quick update.

Still at ATS. This was a rough winter. Rates are lower across the board. Took more hometime than usual so that contributed to the rough winter.

Still making money, but I am not on track to hit my yearly goals. My goal for this year was a 20% increase in pre tax net. I will do better than last year, barring any major breakdowns, but I will be short about 11%.

I would still recommend ATS, but only to a certain type of driver. It's not for everyone and I have seen friends fail horribly over here.

Good thread man. I think I just set here for like 2 hrs reading lol. I'm about to lease a truck and it has gotten me excited. It's like I know what I want and I had this fear of doing it. Almost like if I did it I was going to be a guaranteed failure at it. But I gotta say reading this gives me hope and excitement.

There is way to much negative out there. It's feels extremely good to hear the positive about it for once.
    Thanks man

If you look hard enough here on TTR, you will find some threads about lease or lease/purchase drivers who are successful but there is a plethora of negative nellies who say it can't be done. Quite frankly, I, nor anyone else, can tell you that you will be successful.

I agree with you 100%. It's like I know exactly what I want to do it's just a matter of doing it and doing it correctly and knowing the ins-and-outs of the job. Hand studying my ### off. I've spent the last year-and-a-half research in all these different companies and trying to figure out numbers. Now it's just a matter of doing it.
