Some info for students coming to swift. They pay you $9.50 hour while you are on duty driving and min wage while on duty not driving. (They use your home terminal state to decide what min wage is). I'm not sure what my home terminal is yet it all depends
On what driver code comes back.

Maybe something changed but I was under the impression you were paid your home states minimum wage +$1.00/hr for Line 3 hours and just your states straight minimum wage only all Line 4 hours. (??)

It's very difficult to talk on the phone while eating a sandwich as you are turning the corner for the freeway onramp in a manual trans. lol

I gotta cancel my account here at TTR. I drive a sweet automatic with my tanker and it's awesome compared to shifting a manual loaded tank. I'm not a real trucker. Thanks guys it's been fun.

So what is your terminals minimum wage??

I'm pretty sure the minimum wage is based on your state of residence. Your "home terminal" isn't always in your state of residence.

So what you're saying is your state of residence minimum wage is $8.50/hr??

They pay 9.50 an hour for driving and home terminal (state) min wage for non driving. If my home terminal in ga then that what I get.If its in south carolina thats what I get. I would not argue the point but just heard it all day at orenintation.

    Isn't minimum wage federal??

But he is correct, it was the same in may when I went thru.

What they don't mention.... Is the students must drive at least 50 hours each week to get the higher drive pay.

    DJ Hughes Thanks this.
