He has two months experience and has not driven since September 2014. Would Stevens give him a chance for a job? Would he have to go through their school?
My son has had his cdl since March of 2014. A question

You might have to call them.

With only 2 months driving time and absent since september he will probably be required to ride with a trainer but as mark said call the company ...
-
Yea, he will need to go through the training here. I left for 9 months and they had me do the 5 - 6 weeks out with a trainer. I did have about 2 months solo when I first left also. Call and they will give you the info he needs.

I know I am always out of touch
but I was about 13 last time my mother asked questions I should have been asking
of course that was in '66

Guys, cut her some slack. Maybe she wants him out of the house and has told him an umpteen-million times to call them. "I will!!" was the response she got. Well, she got tired of waiting and here she is. She ain't calling for his sake, she's calling for her sake (and sanity).

Most major carriers look at it like this. 6 months of experience and they will allow you to be out of a truck no more then 6 months. A year would buy you a year. I am not with Stevens but I am pretty sure that if for no other reason they will at least make him go out with a trainer if not through their whole school. 2 months experience really isn't any experience at all. Heck I only have 7 years and I'm still learning from the pros.
