no excessive smoke, the turbo works (is new) but what I dont like is that it's working over 270 degrees, but I'm going to do the first thing that you said. thankyou

270° ? That's COLD..... If it's post turbo, 900° and under wood be normal on a pull. But I'm not a Detroit man.

yeah, 270F is pretty low. That is something like about 3 lb of boost on the flatland with no load. I rarely top 1000F on hard pulls, but 600-700F is typical for a lot of general pulls.

If it is a waste gate turbo, many do. Before we dropped in a factory remanned 2000 12.7 60 in my glider, we replaced the factory waste gate turbo with a non waste gated BW 171702 turbo. 490,000 on the motor now and everything in tip top.

One other question was there any oil in manifold when you installed turbo? It may not be turbo leaking oil. It could be coming from engine.Miguel Prestamo Thanks this. -
12.7 exhaust manifolds tend to crack in the very middle of the center piece. I'm no mechanic.
