Boost only comes from turbo and to make boost fuel is fed to engine, so not enough fuel is going to cylinders, plugged line, filter ,bad pump, or clogged air filter, once you have boost, you have to get it to the intake, you loose it thru leaks, leaks will cause high exhaust temps, high enough and you can burn valves. Only other weak link is the turbo, it has to spool up and make pressure, pull a hose off and check to see if you have a lot of play in the wheel.

That spray bottle with soapy water you use to find air leaks works really well for finding boost leaks too. Even on the CAC

No leaks is a good thing. Doesn't help with your problem though.
I mean no offense by this next question.
Did you have the engine running while checking for leaks? I only say that because I told a fella at a truck stop to do the spray thing and he proceeded to spray everything with the engine off staring at every connection as if bubbles were going to appear. I walked away scratching my head.brknwng Thanks this. -
Any chance a clogged muffler or catalytic converter could cause these issues? The truck sat for a time right? Just thinking that if all else looks good, what else could it be? Unless your precooler went bad. Mine on my C13 went bad. Had some heat issues but never lost boost though. Don't know. Just throwing out suggestions.

Lol and you're the one can't find the leak....surprise!
The turbine spinning at idle with no boost is essentially at ambient pressure and wouldn't produce much in the way of bubbles. With 30/40 psi you'll find any leaks asap
